Leadership Board and Hearts Expanded

At our February General Membership Meeting, Charles Krupinski, was sworn in as a general board member. Charles is also a member of the Raleigh Jaycees. We are very excited to work on Charles’ great ideas and that our board isn’t all women anymore! Charles has been in many Jaycees leadership and chair positions.

We stuffed a van full of donations for the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina. The Boys and Girls home provides a loving foster environment for children who have been abused or neglected. Representative Gary Green from the home filled us with inspiration by telling us about some of the residents of the Home and the excitement of the Charter School they are working on. It is one thing to raise funds or collect donations, but it is even more awesome to see those things at work!

Welcome to the Board, Charles!

Spreading Some Love

The Cary Jaycees enjoyed getting together to make Valentines for the residents of the Cary Health & Rehabilitation Center. Co-chairs Karen and Jamie supplied craft items and several members and their families spent Sunday afternoon pasting, cutting, and being creative. The Valentines were hand delivered by the co-chairs and their families on Valentine’s Day.

Thinking of Christmas 2013 Already?

Thank you to everyone who participated in and attended the 2012 Christmas Parade. We all had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect. Details and registration for the 2013 parade will be posted in August. Please contact us if you are interested in serving on the planning committee.

We’d also like to thank the Town of Cary Solid Waste staff and Spruce Volunteers.  A total of 15 volunteers worked 30 collective hours to collect 16 bags of trash and 9 bags of recycling. That’s amazing!
