Second Annual Cary Jaycees Amateur Photo Contest  
 
The Cary Jaycees and Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival presents the second annual Amateur Photo Contest [Brochure] for the community.  Everyone can participate, adults and youth.  If you love to take pictures and are not a professional paid photographer, this event is for you.  All entries will be displayed during Spring Daze on April 24, 2010 at Bond Park at the Boat House.  Community professionals will judge all entries and winners will be presented at 12:15 PM at the Earth Day Stage. Entries must be received or postmarked by April 5, 2010 (deadline extended to Friday, April 9 at Noon). Any questions, email photo@caryjaycees.org.  Join the fun!

RULES:  
  1. All entries must be original photos, taken by entrant.
  2. Photos must be 5x7 mounted on 8x10 white or black matte OR 8x10 mounted on 11x14 white or black matte.
  3. No frames.
  4. Maximum 2 photos per person.
  5. Entries must be received or postmarked by April 5, 2010 (deadline extended to Friday, April 9 at Noon).
  6. The Cary Jaycees, for publicity purposes, may reproduce photos.
  7. Photos will not be returned, but may be picked up at Jordan Hall Arts Center during April 26 - May 1 office hours of M-F 9AM-10PM & Sat 9AM-4PM.
  8. Self-adhesive hangers will be provided for all pictures.
  9. Each entry must have a completed application label securely affixed to the back. If not, it will be disqualified.
 
 
Judged entries will be displayed at Spring Daze on April 24, 2010 at The Boat House, from 9AM-5PM.  People's Choice voting will be held 9AM-3PM.  Prizes/awards will be announced from 12:15PM-12:30PM on the Earth Day Stage at Spring Daze.

The Cary Jaycees, event sponsors and volunteers are NOT responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen items.  
 
The Cary Jaycees will determine the appropriateness of the photos and may use their discretion in determining if a photo may be displayed.  
 
Participants do not have to be present to win.  
 
Definition of Amateur: One who engages in a pursuit, study, science, or sport as a pastime rather than as a profession. If you are paid or accept money of $200 or more for your photographs you are not considered an amateur in this contest.  
 
Remember: Make checks out to the Cary Jaycees for the exact amount of $12. Any returned checks will be charged a $25 fee.
